HUNTINGTON, NY and PARAMUS, NJ–(Mar 15, 2012) – 14 Radiologists at Medical Arts Radiology (MAR) have obtained their maximum Stage 1 incentives by using the MedicsDocAssistant EHR for Radiology and MedicsRIS from Advanced Data Systems (ADS).
“We are absolutely thrilled to have been able to implement EHR, and at the same time, be eligible to receive the Stimulus Act’s incentives as they apply to radiology,” said Susan Cataro, Systems Administrator for MAR. Ms. Cataro elaborated by saying, “By using MedicsDocAssistant EHR for Radiology, we successfully met all the requirements for Stage 1 of Meaningful Use for each of our 14 radiologists, receiving the maximum incentive payments available for this Stage 1.”
MAR has been using automation solutions from ADS since 1999, starting with the MedicsPremier system for practice management, implementing and integrating the MedicsRIS system in 2008 and the MedicsDocAssistant EHR for Radiology in July 2011. MAR has 130 system users at six locations across Long Island, NY.
By mid-December 2011, MAR had its 90 days of Meaningful Use completed using MedicsDocAssistant EHR for Radiology and MedicsRIS. The attestation phase for their radiologists was completed in early January 2012 and their incentives were all received during the last week of February. “It was literally that fast and simple,” said Ms. Cataro.
Pradeep Albert, MD, a prominent musculoskeletal radiologist at the practice, stated, “The implementation of both EHR and Meaningful Use standards are so important for the future of healthcare and medical research. Medical Arts Radiology is very pleased to have taken this important technological step forward in patient care with the MedicsDocAssistant EHR for Radiology from ADS.”
David Barzillai, President of ADS, commented, “We could not be happier for everyone at Medical Arts Radiology. They are truly a cutting-edge radiology practice. We are proud of the fact that they rely on our Medics radiology solutions to manage the business, and now the clinical sides of the practice, and that our MedicsDocAssistant EHR for Radiology has helped them take full advantage of the Stimulus Act’s Stage 1 incentives.”
Ms. Cataro said, “We have always admired ADS’ solutions for radiology. Their systems are very user friendly and are easy to learn and utilize, yet are comprehensive enough for our size practice. ADS even created a DICOM interface to our PACS as well. The efficiencies resulting from overall system use are extraordinary.”
The Medics Solutions Suite is excellent for a wide variety of specialties in addition to radiology. Contact ADS for more information on the Medics Solutions Suite for your practice.
